Our thoroughly qualified and seasoned termite inspector will evaluate your property to identify potential harbourage areas for termites. These areas encompass trees, tree stumps, logs, scrap timber, retaining walls, and fences.
We also scrutinise environmental conditions that might contribute to and attract termite activity, such as leaking taps and pipes, improperly routed air conditioner plumbing, leaking hot water systems, or compromised termite barriers.
Termites inhabit other areas, including vegetation adjacent to the house and timbers in contact with the soil. We conduct moisture readings throughout all sections of the house. When entering your house, termites bring in mud and moisture to construct their nest. The mud is utilized for building tunnels or galleries to shield them from predators like ants, while moisture keeps them hydrated above ground due to their soft exoskeleton.
Visual Timbers to be assessed can include:
Door frames
Window frames
Skirting boards
Roof voids
Subfloors
Tree stumps
Fences
Retaining walls, etc. around the perimeter of the home/building within a 50 metre radius, where applicable
Moisture meters are also used throughout the course of the Inspection in the wet areas of the home (laundry, bathrooms, etc.), as moisture can attract termites. We have both a “Duty of Care” and “Duty to Warn” of all areas where moisture was detected, so you can engage the advice of a Qualified Plumber or other expert to help reduce the overall risk of Termite Infestation.
